Marblehead to Halifax Race Registration Now Open



Sailors can now register for the 2009 Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race.

Registration is now available on-line so interested ocean racers can get an early start on preparation for this classic North Atlantic event, said organizers on the race website.

The 360-nautical mile race to Halifax gets underway on July 5 in the waters just off Marblehead Harbor.

Sponsored by the Boston Yacht Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, the race is held every other year, alternating with the Newport to Bermuda Race, which occurs in even numbered years.

The Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race also serves as a qualifier for other races and has become one of the pre-eminent ocean races in the North Atlantic.
